My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a safe space for learning where all students have the opportunity to thrive. By bringing as much of my authentic self as possible to the classroom, I create space for students to do the same and to engage more holistically with the content. My pedagogical practices are shaped by the principles of Universal Design for Learning, as accessibility is one of my core values. As a professional science communicator, I strive to make content as comprehensible and engaging as possible. Furthermore, I continually seek out new knowledge and best practices in biology education through my service on the American Society for Cell Biology's Education Committee.聽
