Support for Continual Improvement
School leaders can continuously develop their leadership skills by taking part in professional developemant sessions facilitated by LLA coaches. Leaders can also choose to continue to amplify their work through individualized coaching with a Leadership Coach. Focused coaching include strengthening instructional expertise and coaching strategies, building executive management skills and fostering a deep commitment to equity - each fundamental to ensuring academic and social success for all students.
Leadership Development Opportunities
Excellent Instruction
In Person: Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025 @ 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Virtual: Thursday, September 25th, 2025 @ 9:00AM - 12:00PM
- Audience: Leaders whose role involves providing feedback on instruction or who engages in curriculum design work. (Principals, Assistant Principals, Instructional Coaches, Academic Deans, etc). Particularly effective when more than one leader from the same context attends.
- Description: Leaders will grapple with LLA’s Classroom Observation Tool for Intellectual Quality as a frame for defining excellent instruction. They will strengthen their capacity to observe instruction with an interwoven (as opposed to siloed) lens for evaluating teacher practice to identify the highest leverage point of feedback.
- Coaching Follow-Up (Additional Cost): Coach will co-observe instruction in 3-5 classrooms with the leader and support identification of the highest leverage point of feedback and plans for coaching followup for each of those classrooms.
Effective Teacher Coaching
In Person: Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 @Â 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Virtual: Thursday, October 9th, 2025 @Â 9:00AM - 12:00PM
- Audience: Leaders whose role involves instructional coaching. Particularly effective when everyone who coaches/evaluates teachers is aligned on this practice.
- Description: Leaders will grapple with LLA’s Effective Teacher Coaching Framework and the research base that underlies its structure. They will strengthen their capacity to provide wise feedback and impactful support within the context of intentionally planned coaching meetings.
- Coaching Follow-Up (Additional Cost):Â Coach will EITHER co-observe instruction and co-plan a coaching meeting using the LLA coaching framework OR will observe the leader engaged in a coaching meeting and provide feedback.
Professional Development Planning
In Person: Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 @Â 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Virtual: Thursday, November 20th, 2025 @Â 9:00AM - 12:00PM
- ´¡³Ü»å¾±±ð²Ô³¦±ð:ÌýLeaders whose role involves planning professional development or facilitating adult learning spaces (Administrators, Coaches, Department Heads, Grade Level Leads, etc).
- ¶Ù±ð²õ³¦°ù¾±±è³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:ÌýLeaders will grapple with LLA’s PD Planning Thought-Catcher and will apply the planning framework to an upcoming adult learning space in which they will facilitate. They will hone their capacity to clarify the purpose of a PD session, plan activities that align to their purpose, and intentionally design preventions and interventions that best ensure the engagement of their colleagues.
- Coaching Follow-Up (Additional Cost): Coach will EITHER support planning an arc of PD that leverages LLA’s PD Planning Thought-Catcher at scale OR will observe a PD session, share feedback, and support planning of the next PD session incorporating the feedback.
Cultivating Excellent Leadership

- ´¡³Ü»å¾±±ð²Ô³¦±ð:Ìý Leaders, in particular leaders who support or develop the leadership of others.Â
- ¶Ù±ð²õ³¦°ù¾±±è³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:ÌýLeaders will grapple with LLA’s Standard of Excellence for School Leadership and engage in supported self reflection about their current practice in relationship to that standard. Grounded in the tool, they will identify the highest leverage point of improvement in their own leadership practice and/or that of the leaders they develop. They will craft leadership development plans and arcs for themselves and their leadership teams.
- Coaching Follow-Up (Additional Cost): Coach will EITHER observe the leader and provide them with feedback on their self identified highest leverage point of growth OR co-observe a leader that they support and collaboratively craft a development plan for that leader’s practice.
