In the United States, at least 40 states are anticipating water shortages by 2024. Nearly two-thirds of the global population will face water shortages by 2025. In 2020, water became a futures commodity on Wall Street, similar to gold and oil. Farmers, investors, and municipalities can now hedge against or bet on the future price of water. Read how one company, Watts Water Technologies, is building on a long history of water conservation efforts by taking steps to reduce its water, energy, carbon, and waste footprint in both its operations and products.
