ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Board elects five new Trustees
Boston College’s Board of Trustees elected a diverse group of alumni to four-year terms on the Board at its meeting on June 6.
The five new Trustees will begin their terms in September.

Robert B. Ford
Robert B. Ford '94, P'27, is chair and chief executive officer of Abbott Laboratories, a global healthcare company. Previously, he served as president and chief operating officer, and as executive vice president of Medical Devices, leading Abbott’s Diabetes Care, Cardiovascular and Neuromodulation businesses. Born and raised in Brazil by an American mother and a Brazilian father, Ford has spent nearly his entire career at Abbott, starting in 1996 in Brazil. In addition to a bachelor's degree in communication from Boston College, he holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. A member of the Parents Leadership Council, he previously served on the Board of Regents. Ford and his wife, Juliana, have two children, Marco '27 and Tito.Â

Yolanda Lyle
Yolanda Lyle '94, J.D.'01, H'22, is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience providing counsel to pharmaceutical companies. In January 2025, she was appointed senior vice president and chief risk officer of Pfizer, Inc., where she had previously served as SVP and chief of staff to the chair and CEO. She currently serves on the executive committee of ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪s Wall Street Business Leadership Council and is a member of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Law School Alumni Board. In 2024, she was named one of the top 50 African American Leaders at the 20th Annual National Diversity & Leadership Conference. She was also honored by Savoy magazine as one of the Most Influential Executives in Corporate America, and by Diversity Women Media as one of the Elite 100 Black female executives. A Brookline native, Lyle began her career as a corporate attorney at the Boston law firm Nutter, McClennen & Fish LLP.

Francisco Mota, S.J.
Francisco Mota, S.J., S.T.L.'17, is treasurer of the Portuguese Province of the Society of Jesus. A former research fellow at ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪s Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies (2024-25), his investigations during the past two decades focused on Church social teaching and the management of cultural institutions. As director of the Catholic University of Mozambique’s Maputo campus (2011-12) and as chair and executive director of Brotéria, a Jesuit cultural center in Lisbon (2017-24), Fr. Mota was responsible for the organization, strategic planning, and daily operations of both institutions. Ordained a priest in 2016, Fr. Mota served as vice president of Portugal’s Jesuit Refugee Service, and a member of the province’s finance board. He holds a B.A. in philosophy, and a M.A. in philosophy, political science, and ethics from the Catholic University of Portugal; a bachelor of divinity degree in Theology from the University of London; and an S.T.L. from the Clough School of Theology and Ministry.

Rupal J. Patel Poltack
Rupal J. Patel Poltack '94, P'25, is chief executive officer and president of Walton Enterprises, which oversees the Walton family office, Walton Family Foundation, and the private family trust. She originally joined Walton in April 2019 as president and chief operating officer. Patel Poltack began her professional career as a manager at Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in 1994 after graduating with a B.S. in finance from the Carroll School of Management, then held positions at Fidelity Investments during two time frames (2003-07 and 2016-19), advancing from director to senior vice president of Fidelity’s Single-Family Officer & Ultra-Wealthy Families office division. The daughter of parents who emigrated from India nearly 55 years ago, she met her husband, David '94, at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, and they have two children.

Mark C. Reed
Mark C. Reed M.Ed.'99, is the 25th president of Loyola University Chicago, one of the leading Jesuit research universities. Prior to Loyola, Reed served for seven years as the first lay president of St. Joseph’s University, a Jesuit institution in Philadelphia. Previously, he held multiple senior leadership roles at Fairfield University, where he earned a B.S. in mathematics and an M.B.A. He currently serves as a member of the NCAA Division 1 board of directors and its finance committee, and a board member of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, the Association of Jesuits Colleges and Universities, and Loyola Academy. He is a past chair of the Council of Presidents for the Atlantic 10 Conference, St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, and the American Council on Education. In addition to a M.Ed. in secondary education administration from the Lynch School of Education and Human Development, he holds an Ed.D. in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. Reed and his wife, Kate, have two daughters.
